The Aftermath: North Carolina donates to United Ministries

The Manning High School FFA and members of Manning United Methodist Church helped load supplies from Greensboro, North Carolina, on Saturday morning in the church, for the use of United Ministries of Clarendon County.

United Ministries Director Kathy Bryce said the truck was provided by Shelby Johnson Trucking Service, who donated a truck for the delivery from the triad area of North Carolina.

"The FFA kids were absolutely wonderful to work with," Bryce said. "The tractor trailer was loaded with all kinds of food and cleaning supplies, baby items, paper product and water. We were just so blessed by the people in North Carolina and by these students."

Students participating included Quadri Bell, Andrea Lidell, Timaya Garner, Brian Scott and Chris Holman.

"In addition to these wonderful persons responsible for bringing the supplies to us, we had many volunteers come and help unload the truck along with the students from FFA," Bryce said.

Other volunteers included Jennifer Casselman, Amanda Mathis, Lila Kate Mathis, Gavin Mathis, Ed Russell, Desmond Desilvia, Larry and Edna Ellis, Ken Phelps, Gale Murray, Charlotte McDaris and Bryce herself.

"Thank all of you for the special part you played in helping our community," Bryce said.
