HopeHealth to accept appointments for Affordable Care Act enrollment

HopeHealth is accepting appointments to start meeting Nov. 1 with consumers who need assistance with enrolling into the health insurance marketplace created through the Affordable Care Act. HopeHealth's Manning office will be one location taking appointments and meeting with those in need, along with sites in Florence, Lake City, Timmonsville and Kingstree. President Barack Obama signed the Affordable Care Act (ACA) into law March 23, 2010, "essentially putting consumers back into the driver seat of their health care," said Director of Community Relations Tiffany Straus. "All Americans now have access to affordable health insurance options," she said. "HopeHealth's insurance specialists, who are certified by the Federally Facilitated Marketplace as application specialists, will walk consumers through the qualification process and explain all coverage options." Individuals who qualify for the marketplace must be enrolled by Dec. 15 to receive coverage by Jan. 1, 2016. HopeHealth Insurance Specialist Supervisor Jonathon Jelonek said there are a few steps one can take to prepare for appointments made with the healthcare facility. "Be sure to bring your 2014 tax returns and recent pay stubs for each consumer that will be on the application," he said. "If you have registered for the marketplace in the past, please bring your username and password, as well as the log-in information for the email address you used to set up your account. This will help expedite the enrollment process." For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call (843) 667-9414 or email coverage@hope-health.org.
