Sumter County Coroner Harvin Bullock said Zachary D. Secor, 28, of Sumter, was driving a pick-up truck from Clarendon County toward Sumter on Old Georgetown/Manning Road. After just crossing the Sumter-Clarendon county line, Secor’s truck hit a vehicle head-on. Bullock said the S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the details of the wreck. Information about the specifics related to the wreck were not immediately available Wednesday night. Marco Andre Clark, formerly of 127 Gallery Lane in Vance, is currently serving his sentence at Kirkland Correctional Institution in Columbia. Clark was arrested Dec. 4, 2008, along with Holly Hill resident Alvin LaTroy and Vance resident Leo LaMont Zene. He was charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Born Dec. 2, 1953, in Alcolu, she was a daughter of the late Willie Lee and Elloree Montgomery Lowery. The family will receive friends at 4060 Relief Road in Alcolu. Funeral plans are incomplete and will be announced later by Job’s Mortuary Inc. of Sumter.

She was surrounded by her husband of nearly 60 years, James Cleveland “Jim” Black, and family. Born Jan. 10, 1937, in Ehrhardt, “Nell,” as she was affectionately known, began working at a young age in her father’s mercantile, Farmer’s Trade Store.
