CLOVER - Ruby Rosalie Hastings McCarter, 90, widow of Scott Johnson McCarter, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at the home of her daughter.
Born April 14, 1925, in Quincy, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Virgil and Ruby Pierson Hastings. She was a seamstress, a homemaker and a member of New Life Christian Center in Clover.
Survivors include her children, Ruth Ann Helms (Eddie) of Clover, Sara Jane Briggs (Larry) of Hopewell, Virginia, Mary Jo Jones (Carter) of Manning, Norma Jean Nelson (Ronnie) of York, Russell Scott McCarter (Sharon) of Clover, Linda Norris of York and Eric Johnson McCarter of Clover; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Ruby Rosalie Hastings McCarter will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York.
Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at the cemetery.
