2 LMA grads receive Tuomey Foundation scholarships

Two Laurence Manning Academy graduates were among nine students awarded Thursday with scholarships from the Tuomey Foundation's Employee Scholarship Fund. The students included, from left, LMA graduates Shelby Holliday and Cameron Menser, along with McKenzie Quinn-Barnett, Garrett Conner, AshLee Holloman, Breanna Kimbrell and Hannah Voisin. Not pictured were Christina Lafoon and Mary Peyton Zilch. The students were presented Thursday at a luncheon in Sumter with the scholarships, which were created in 2000 for Tuomey employees, immediate family members of Tuomey employees and active volunteers who have at least 250 hours of service. In 15 years, more than $33,000 has been awarded in 60 scholarships. Holliday will be attended Erskine College, while Menser will be attending the University of South Carolina Sumter. Quinn-Barnett and Zilch will be attended the College of Charleston; Conner, Hampden-Sydney College; Holloman, the University of South Carolina Sumter; Kimbrell and Voisin, Clemson University; and Lafoon, Walden University.
