Many of the 50 recommendations issued Monday involve uniformly training law enforcement officers statewide on how to investigate domestic violence cases. Gov. Nikki Haley, who created the group by executive order in January, said there’s a lot of work to do on recommendations that would seem to be common sense. Manning Police Department Cpl. W.B. Secrist II stopped Marvin Tobias Frazier II in the parking lot of a store on Paxville Highway, shortly after suspect left the high school parking lot. Dr. Bernard Richburg was charged Feb. 18 at the family home on Mary Drive in Summerton, shortly after his 18-year-old son told deputies with the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office that the elder Richburg allegedly threatened him and pointed a shotgun at him during an argument that day. Department of Natural Resources revealed 176 new records, including one Boone and Crockett qualifier. Each spring S.C. Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Wildlife Section personnel make a concerted effort to measure deer racks throughout the state, with a major session during the Palmetto Sportsmen’s Classic in Columbia. Of the 507 sets of antlers measured this spring, 176 met the minimum score for entry on the state records list including 167 sets of typical and nine non-typical racks, according to Charles Ruth, Deer/Wild Turkey Program coordinator for DNR.… Read the rest
