Say hello to Joseph Cox

Posted
College of Charleston graduate Joseph Cox celebrated his 26th birthday Thursday with his fellow students from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. Cox is one of eight students spending their third year of medical school with Clarendon Memorial Hospital for the next year. "I graduated with a degree in biology from the College of Charleston, and I'm following in the old man's footsteps," Cox said. Cox said he's open-minded about what field he'd like to practice in, but he's leaning toward emergency medicine more than any other. "I'm just really looking forward to the next year and gaining more clinical experience in this setting," Cox said. "Clarendon Memorial Hospital is a smaller hospital, and we will get a lot of one-on-one time with doctors and will get to know patients better." Cox is living in the Wyboo area, and will start his first rotation in radiology. "I love living in the area," he said. "It's beautiful. I love the lakes."
