LAKE CITY – Sybil Welch Anderson, 87, widow of Joe McGill Anderson, died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Sandpiper Nursing Home.
Born June 28, 1927, in Lake City, she was a daughter of the late Robert Emiel Welch and Teppee Turner Welch. She retired as the assistant director of the Lake City Public Library in 2002, and was a member of the Lake City Presbyterian Church, where she taught the Junior High Sunday School Class and belonged to the Women’s Circle.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Louise Anderson Allen and John Rodgers Allen, both of Mount Pleasant; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Lake City Memorial Park.
A reception for family and friends will be held in the Lake City Presbyterian Church fellowship hall, 301 E. Main St., immediately following services.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of Sandpiper, especially Amber, Consuelo, Belle and Ebony.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Lake City Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1747, Lake City, SC 29560.
Arrangements are being handled by Brockington Funeral Home, 122 W. Thomas St. in Lake City.
