Manning High rising seniors to attend Boys State

Four young men from Manning High School will attend Palmetto Boys State 2015 from June 7-13 at Anderson University due to the generosity of several local clubs, individuals and businesses. Reginald Conyers Jr., Micah Jamison Walker, Dannie Wicker Jr. and Tyrone Devaugn Brunson are all rising seniors and honor students at the high school. They will attend the prestigious weeklong governmental leadership seminar sponsored by NBSC, the National Council of Negro Women, the Manning Rotary Club, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Holliday and the Carter-Sullivan American Legion Post No. 204. Conyers is the son of April D. Logan. He is a member of Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church and participates in the Adopt-A-Highway program with the JROTC. He also helps feed the homeless through his church ministry. Walker is a son of Micah and Paula Walker and is a member of Enox Baptist Church, where he sings with the youth choir and serves with the audio-visual and outreach ministries. Wicker is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dannie Wicker Sr., and is active in the JROTC and serves as the Aeronautical Club commander and the Brother's United treasurer. Brunson is a son of Betty Brunson. He is a member of Trinity AME Church, where he is active with the Young Adults, as an usher and with the youth choir. He is active in track and field, cross country, the FFA, the FBLA and the JROTC.
