Manning High School senior Ariana Ruiz was presented the Nikki Parsons Memorial Scholarship on Friday night at the high school.
Parsons died in June from injuries sustained in a vehicle wreck on Interstate 95. She served as the 2012-13 president of the Manning High School FFA, and was a student in the radiology program at Central Carolina Technical College.
FFA Director Coach Michael Haynes presented the scholarship to Ruiz, saying it had to go to a good person who represented "Nikki, who was one of the best students I had in 30 years."
Ruiz will graduate June 6 with her classmates. She has spent much of her senior year as Miss Clarendon 2015, and will represent our county in late June in the Miss South Carolina Pageant.
