GREELEYVILLE - Curtis Lynn Mason Sr., 71, husband of Virginia M. Mason, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born November 13, 1943, he was a son of the late Eugene Russ Mason and Mildred Hagan Mason. He was a member of Greeleyville Baptist Church. He was a retired manager with the Wise Company. He was the former owner and operator of "The Gun Trader" in Greeleyville.
His grandchildren gave him the name "Grandy" that became the name everyone knew him by.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years; one son, Curtis Lynn Mason Jr. (Ann) of Manning; two daughters, Dayna S. Mason of Columbia and Missie Mason McCutchen (Jim) of Kingstree; six grandchildren, Ellis Mason, Tripp Mason, Hugh McCutchen, Grace McCutchen, Elise McCutchen, and Will McCutchen; one brother, Ronnie Mason (Marilyn) of Myrtle Beach; and one sister, Sharon Brown (Al) of Cades.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth Mason.
A graveside memorial service for Curtis Lynn Mason Sr. will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2015, at New Market Cemetery in Greeleyville, with the Rev. Wayne Ellis officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2015, in the fellowship hall of Greeleyville Baptist Church.
