LAKE CITY – Lillian G. Kirby, 86, beloved widow of Mack Oneal Kirby, died peacefully at McLeod Regional Medical Center, after an extended illness.

Born Sept. 18, 1928, in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late George and Annie Gibbons. She was a faithful member of Hebron Independent Methodist Church. She loved the outdoors, planting flowers and working in the yard.

She spent hours of her time communicating with her Savior through reading the scriptures.

She was a great cook and wil be missed by her family and friends.

Survivos include a daughter, Elizabeth Kirby Pizzola (James D.) of Alexandria, Virginia; a son, Jimmy Oneal Kirby (Lynda) of Easley; three grandsons, Dr. Christopher J. Pizzola (Virginia), Brandon M. Pizzola (Chelsea) and Jimmy Oneal Kirby, Jr. (Stacey), all of Alexandria; a sister, Vivian Rogers of Columbia; special friends Julie Hancock and family, and their daughters Robin Hancock and Ann Baggett; her best friend, Emmaline Wilson Calcutt; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful kitty companion, Buddy.

She was preceded in death by a son, James McLauren Kirby; and two sisters, Evelyn Greene and Gladys Dukes.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to services.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Hebron Independent Church, 1424 Hebron Road in Cades.

Burial will be held in the church cemetery, 2273 Hebron Road in Cades.

Arrangements are being handled by Brockington Funeral Home, 122 W. Thomas St. in Lake City.
