Manning Mayor Julia Nelson and City Administrator Scott Tanner didn't know what to expect when the city held its first Red, White and Blue Celebration last July.
But after seeing a large crowd come out to enjoy the live music, good food and a spectacular fireworks show, they were sure they'd do it again.
The 2nd annual Red, White and Blue Celebration will be held 7 p.m. July 3 at the city's Red Barn near the Farmer's Market area, Nelson announced Monday night during Manning City Council.
"This is a patriotic, family-oriented event, which will include live music, food and a vibrant fireworks display that will illuminate the skies over downtown Manning," Nelson said. "It should be a fun an enjoyable night for all to remember."
Nelson said the city is seeking sponsorships for the event. She said levels include:
Light Up the Sky - Event Sponsor - $1,500;
Explosive Class Act - Band Sponsor - $1,000;
Lock and Load - $750;
Forbidden Dynamite - $500;
Grenade Attack - $250;
and Short-fuse Firecracker - $200.
"There are limited food vendor opportunities available," Nelson said.
