A 42-year-old Sumter woman and a 53-year-old Manning woman were arrested about 6:39 p.m. May 12 at a home in the first block of West Huggins St. in Manning and charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct. The Manning Police Department reported Monday that police were called to the location in reference to a fight-in-progress, and officers allegedly saw the women standing in the roadway arguing and that both had visible scratches and fresh blood on them. Tracey E. Giles, 53, of 43 W. Huggins St. in Manning, said Shona Moenek Fooks, 42, of 1199 N. Lafayette Drive in Sumter, came to her home and knocked on the front door, telling her to "bring it, it's well overdue." Giles said she stepped outside the home and Fooks allegedly swung at, but missed her. Giles said she swung back and struck Fooks in the face, resulting in mutual combat. Police reported that the altercation stems from an ongoing Facebook post between the two and payments on a vehicle Giles said she co-signed for Fooks.
