Lady Saints win 2-1 in three-game series to take State Title

The Clarendon Hall Lady Saints defeated Colleton Prep Academy two games to one to claim the SCISA 1A State Championship. Aubrey Johnson led the offense in the series, with six hits that included three home runs and seven RBI. Gracyn Royce had six hits with two doubles, and Delaney Peeler and Shannon Corbett had six hits each. Jordan Carter had four hits with a home run. Brittany Pack had three hits driving in five runs. Emily Brunson and Holly Carlisle each had two hits. In the final game, down 5-7 in the seventh inning, the Lady Saints scored six runs to regain the lead. The Lady Warhawks managed to score four to tie the game, forcing extra innings. In the top of the eighth, down to two outs with runners on first and second base, Aubrey Johnson sent a linedrive over the centerfield fence to reclaim the lead 14-11. Colleton Prep would score one more run in the bottom of the eighth, and the Lady Saints managed to get the outs needed to secure the win and claim the title. This was the Lady Saints fourth straight appearance in the 1A Championships Series, having won it back in 2012. Scores for the games included, for Game 1, Colleton Prep winning 4-3; Game 2, Clarendon Hall winning 12-4; and Game 3, Clarendon Hall winning 14-12.
