Skylar Dawn Fulton, 19, of 1175 Summerford Lane in Manning, was charged about 11:15 p.m. April 6 at a safety checkpoint in the area of Old Georgetown Road and Bob White Drive in Manning with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. According to reports from the Manning Police Department, police smelled “a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle,” and Cpl. W.B. Secrist II asked Fulton if there was any marijuana in the vehicle. Fulton allegedly answered in the negative. She then told Secrist that she had a blunt but threw it out before she reached the checkpoint. A search of the vehicle revealed two large plastic bags of suspected marijuana, along with another plastic bag of marijuana and a set of digital scales in Fulton’s purse. She was granted a $5,000 personal recognizance bond the day of her arrest.
