PINEWOOD – Deloris Haley Jenkinson, 84, widow of Marvin Larush Jenkinson Jr., died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 20, 1930, in Charleston, she was a daughter of the late Edgar William Haley and Lizzie Holladay Haley. She graduated from the Manning High School Class of 1949 and she worked as a legal secretary for John Dinkins. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, canning and baking. She served as a judge of baked and canned goods at the Sumter County Fair for many years. She was a member of Pinewood United Methodist Church, where she served as president of the United Methodist Women (Lizzie Griffin Circle) and the JOY Club.

Survivors include three children, Sheila J. Kyzer (Steve) of Conway, Pamela J. Weir (Kent) of Pinewood and Carl M. Jenkinson (Teri) of Sylva, N.C.; a brother, Everette Haley (Anne) of Manning; two sisters, Mercelene Scott (Jim) of Sumter and Sharron Haley of Manning; eight grandchildren, Allison Dudley, Brian Kyzer (Lauren), Kristin Weir, Jessica Weir, Laura Weir, Justin Davis (Matt), Melisa Hawk (Derrick) and Carlee Jenkinson; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Pressley Haley.

A funeral service for Deloris Haley Jenkinson will be held 3 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, at Pinewood United Methodist Church, with the Rev. George Gain officiating. Burial will follow in Pinewood Cemetery.

Brian Kyzer, Billy O’Cain, Will Anderson, Bubba Livingston, Richard Jenkinson and Joe Wamer will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be an hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary, and other times at the home, 2729 Jenkinson Road in Pinewood.
