Coper Green, 61, husband of Julia Dingle Green, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

Born Feb. 10, 1954, in Pinewood, "George," as he was affectionately known, was a son of the late Aaron and Sarah Johnson Green. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Manning.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Green.

Survivors besides his wife3 of the home include three sons, Capers Green and Nicholas Troy Green, both of Atlanta, and Greg Kennedy of Lexington, N.C.; seven sisters, Mary Montgomery of Pinewood, Edith Coates (Jack) Miami, Florida, Victoria Wilder (Julius) of Central Islip, N.Y., Sarah (Lucille) Jones (Flynn) of Marlboro, N.J., Lucy Brown of Sumter and Dorcus Haney and Eretha Green, both of Columbia; eight grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.

A public viewing will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the funeral home.

Celebratory services for Coper Green will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 4829 Alex Harvin Highway in Manning, with the Rev. Terry Johnson, pastor, officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home, 1052 Old Pocalla Road in Sumter.

Services for Coper Green have been entrusted to Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning.
