South Jordan River Union Youth Conference

The South Jordan River Union will hold its 1st Youth Conference 10 a.m. April 18 morning praise and worship service, workshops, Bible study, rehearsal and dinner. Afternoon services will begin at 2 p.m. with praise and worship, an oratorical speaker, choirs, praise dancing and much more. The event will be held at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 4319 Rowe Drive in Summerton, where the Rev. David Lawson is host pastor. Workshops will include subjects like parenting, fire safety, bullying and responding to law enforcement. The oratorical speaker will be Brother Javonte Thompson. Minister Quinten Kelly will hold Bible study. The county fire and sheriff's offices will be workshop facilitators, along with Sister Brenda C. Clark. The Mass Choir will be directed by Clark and Brother Tyrone Cummings, and praise dance advisors will be sisters Regina Cotton and Diane McKinney and Minister Tavonia Pearson. Sister Dorothy James will be skit director and brothers Jerry Lloyd and Harold Bradley will serve as musicians. The South Jordan River Union involves Antioch, Bethlehem, Briggs Chapel, Gum Spring, Holly Hill, Macedonia and New Light Missionary Baptist churches.
