Saints defeat Kings Academy

The Clarendon Hall varsity baseball team defeated The Kings Academy, out of Florence, on Thursday night by a final score of 16-9. With the non-conference win, the Saints improve to 5 and 3 on the season. The Saints plated at least one run in every inning as seven batters had at least one hit each. The Saints totaled 10 hits for the night as The Kings used four different pitchers allowing 17 walks. After three complete innings, the Saints found themselves down by one run with a 7 -6 score; however, they regained the lead in the 4th inning by plating 2 runs on back-to-back singles by Tilton McRae and Dustin Way and a double by Gavin Allan. The Saints added 6 runs in the 5th inning to pull away and secure the victory. Way got the start on the mound for the Saints, pitching 4 innings, allowing 5 hits, two walks with 5 strike-outs. Allan came in for relief in the 5th inning, allowing 2 hits and one walk over the last three innings. The Saints were led on offense by Daniel Pappas who was 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored. McRae was also 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and a rbi, and Allan was 2 for 4 with a run scored. Clarendon Hall will travel to Holly Hill on Monday for a conference matchup against Holly Hill Academy.
