Betty Ann Ragin Keitt, 60, widow of John Keitt, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.

Born May 10, 1954, in Summerton, she was a daughter of the late Aaron Ragin and Inez McBride Ragin. She was a 1972 graduate of Scott's Branch High School in Summerton and also attended Denmark Technical College in Denmark. In her youth, she joined Liberty Hill AME Church and later joined her husban'd church, Granger Baptist Church in Elloree.

She then became a member of the House of God in Manning, where she was a member of the Missionary, Usher and Mother boards. She was employed by Clarendon School District 1 as a bus driver for Special Needs children and as a student aide. She was voted Bus Driver of the Year for 2013-14.

She was preceded in death by four siblings, Elouise Baker, Charles and Nathaniel Ragin and Thelma Carter.

Survivors include three daughters, Tomiorror (Alonzo) Rivers-Backmon of Cameron, Jannette Kiett of Columbia and JoAnn Keitt of Summerton; a son, Barnett Keitt of Columbia; a grandson, Ti-Shawn Bennett-Keitt of Summerton; a niece she raised as her own, Paulette Carter of Houston, Texas; a godson, Jarrod Travis Ragin of Columbia; two goddaughters, Ny'yanna Stukes and Dyamend Henry; two special grandsons, Darion Enos and Raquan Carter; three sisters, Dorothy Chatmon of Apollo Beach, Florida, and Linda and Frances Ragin, both of Summerton; eight sisters-in-law; and four brothers-in-law.

A public viewing will be held from 1-7 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2015, at the funeral home.

Celebratory services for Betty Ann Ragin Keitt will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2015, in the Scott's Branch High School gymnasium, 9253 Alex Harvin Highway in Summerton. Elect Lady Eleanor Stukes, pastor of the House of God, will serve as eulogist, assisted by Evangelists Stella Taylor and Stephanie Morris and Bishop Benjamin Spencer and Elder Dathan Stukes.

Burial will follow in the Granger Baptist Church cemetery in Elloree.

Betty Ann Ragin Keitt will lie in repose for an hour prior to services.

The family will receive friends at the home, 1041 McNair Drive in Summerton.

Funeral services for Betty Ann Ragin Keitt have been entrusted to Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning.
