Jordan United Methodist Church presented a check Tuesday to the Central Carolina Technical College Foundation for its Scholars Program at the F.E. DuBose Center in Manning. It is the church's fifth donation, according to CCTC Foundation Executive Director Meree McAlister. The Jordan United Methodist Church SCholarship was established in 2011 to provide scholarships to Clarendon County students attending CCTC. More than 25 students from Clarendon County have benefitted to date from the church's generosity. "We value and appreciate our partnership that benefits the students of Clarendon County," McAlister said. Church representatives Colleen Bochette, the Rev. Wallace "Wally" Culp, George Summers and Carole Summers presented the check to CCTC President Dr. Tim Hardee and McAlister. "We see this donation as an important outreach and missions program," Culp said. "As Methodists, we follow the teachings of John Wesley in helping to provide education for all."
