William Coskrey Plowden IV

CHANTILLY, Va. - William Coskrey Plowden IV, 39, husband of Dana Lane Plowden, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Born April 10, 1975, in Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, Bill was a son of William Coskrey Plowden III and June Coker Plowden. He was a graduate of West Potomac High School in Alexandria, Virginia, and James Madison University. He also held a master's degree from the University of Maryland University College. As a federal government contractor, he supported many Department of Defense programs within the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He attended Reston Bible Church, and served in the food pantry ministry.

Bill was a movie buff and an avid sports fan. He particularly enjoyed watching hockey, soccer and football with the guys. But above all, he was a devoted husband, father and son who loved his family more than anything on earth.

Survivors besides his wife of Chantilly and his parents of Columbia include three daughters, Kaleigh, Leah and Zoey, all of Chantilly; his paternal grandfather, William Coskrey Plowden Jr. of New Zion; and a number of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Allyson Rebecca Plowden.

Funeral services for William Coskrey Plowden IV will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Reston Bible Church, 4560 Oakbrook Court in Sterling, Virginia, with Pastor Mike Minter officiating.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2015, at New Zion United Methodist Church cemetery, 7169 Salem Road in New Zion, with the Rev. Barry Gray officiating.

The family sincerely thanks the many doctors, nurses, technicians and therapists of Massachusetts General Hospital and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital who fervently cared for Bill over the past 18 months. Likewise, the family is so grateful for people around the world who have diligently prayed for them and Bill, and who have provided immeasurable support throughout this journey.
