Rachel Wiggins Hodge Boseman, widow of Bennie Hodge Sr. and Edward Boseman, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at National Health Care in Sumter.

Born Oct. 15, 1915, in Berkeley County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Wiggins. She lived in Alcolu and Manning for many years and was employed by Sacony Manufacturing. She was the oldest member of Crosswell Baptist Church in Sumter.

Survivors for Rachel Wiggins Hodge Boseman include a son, Benny Hodge Jr. (Jean) of Sumter; two daughters, Dean Hodge Morgan of Lexington and Rita Hodge Weaner (Lowell) of Salem; six grandchildren, Cindy H. Timmons, Mike Weaver, Nick Stancil, Tim Stancil, Kim Adams and Ken Poston; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Huel Wiggins; and three sisters, Glen Schneider, Vivian Dempsey and Cleo Smith.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Vasteen Hodge; four brothers, Eddie Wiggins, Claude Wiggins, Hilbert Wiggins and J.D. Wiggins; and a sister, Shirley Korn.

Funeral services for Rachel Wiggins Hodge Boseman were held Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Crosswell Baptist Church in Sumter, with the Rev. Charles Owens officiating. Burial followed in Manning Cemetery.

Kinchen Adams, Tony Hogue, Hunter Poston, Ken Poston, Nick Stancil and Rich Timmons served as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Crosswell Baptist Church, 604 Mathis St., Sumter.
