C.E. Murray High School students Amoria Rush and Tyshaun Johnson were the winners of the Waccamaw Regional level for the National Career Development Association’s Poetry and Poster Contest held in November. The high school announced the win Wednesday. Johnson, a sophomore, won first place for his culinary arts poster, and Rush, a freshman, won third place for her pediatrician-at-work poster. Johnson was also the third-place winner at the state level for the culinary arts poster. His work will be judged on the national level. The theme for the NCDA’s contest was “Celebrating First Jobs through Encore Careers.” C.E. Murray art instructor Andrea McCrea had several students enter posters for the contest.
