Opaline Locklair Christmas

NEW ZION - Opaline Locklair Christmas, 80, wife of James Durant Christmas, died Jan. 30, 2015, at her home, after an illness. Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, at Frierson's Tabernacle Church, with burial following in McElveen Cemetery in New Zion. Visitation was held for two hours prior to services. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Willie W. Locklair and Olivia Floyd Locklair. She was a retired seamstress and was a member of Frierson's Tabernacle Church. Opaline Locklair Christmas was preceded in death by five siblings, Annie Laura Morris, Timon Locklair, Vernice Morris, Vera Coker and Mark Sims. Survivors besides her husband of New Zion include a daughter, Linda Faye Christmas of Florence; three sons, Larry Locklair of Scranton and Sidney Eric Christmas and James Mitchell Christmas, both of New Zion; five sisters, Mary Jane Humphries of Darlington, Ethel Lou Lee of Scranton, Myrtle McKenzie of Lake City, Lizzie Floyd of Turbeville and Dorothy Gaymon of Olanta; a brother, Johnny Locklair of Scranton; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
