Clarendon County firefighter F.B. Jones works at keeping a grass fire in a back yard on Herod Drive from encroaching further on the property. A grass woods fire behind a home in the 1400 block started by a burn barrel threatened two structures early Thursday afternoon. Firefighters were able to put the blaze out before it did any major damage, other than to the grass behind the homes.
