TURBEVILLE – Dorothy Jeannette Jordan Craven, 89, widow of John William Craven Sr., died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, at her home.

Born Sept. 29, 1925, in Meridian, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Horace Levon Jordan and Hazel Jeannette Curtis Jordan. She was a homemaker and a member of Turbeville First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Robert Craven (Beth) of Turbeville; a daughter, Linda Whitehead of Turbeville; a daughter-in-law, Sonja Craven of Huntsville, Ala.; a sister, Bobbie Davis (Don) of Huntsville; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John W. Craven Jr.; a grandson, Jonathan Craven; and a sister, Sara Jordan.

A funeral service for Dorothy Jeannette Jordan Craven will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at Turbeville First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Craven and the Rev. Dr. Mike Reid officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church sanctuary, and other times at the home, 1035 Holly St. in Turbeville.

A graveside service for Dorothy Jeannette Jordan Craven will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at St. John's Baptist Church, 2468 St. John's Church Road in Ehrhardt.
