SUMMERTON – Arthur Bryan Anderson Jr., 82, husband of 57 years to Mary Ann McAlister Anderson, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.

Born Feb. 24, 1932, in Great Falls, he was a son of the late Arthur Bryan Anderson, Sr. and Nell Gray Anderson. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, a 1958 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy, the retired owner and operator of Anderson Pharmacy in Manning and he was of the Presbyterian faith.

Survivors besides his wife of Summerton include two sons, Dr. Bryan Anderson (Tina) of Rock Hill and Colonel (Retired) Bruce Anderson (Lisa) of Manning; eight grandchildren, Charlotte Herod (Ben) of Manning, Nikki Brantley (Matt) of Summerville, Katie Anderson of Wilmington, N.C., Michael Anderson (Jennifer) of Tega Cay, Eric Anderson and Gray Anderson, both of Charleston, Zac Dennis of Rock Hill and Lee Anderson of Manning; three great-grandchildren, Avery Herod, Hadley Herod and William Anderson; and a brother, Don Anderson of Jefferson, Ga.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Patrick Anderson; and a sister, Vivian Henderson.

A memorial service for Arthur Bryan Anderson Jr. will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, prior to services, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
