Dorothy Ann Pugh Huggins, 68, widow of Jonathan Huggins Sr., died Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

Born May 8, 1946, in the Silver community of Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Willie "Punch" Tindal and Hannah Pugh Conyers and step-daughter of James Conyers. She attended Clarendon County public schools. She was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Silver. She was employed at Summerton Diner and Sunshine Restaurant, until her health failed.

Survivors include her children, Joseph Pugh of Manning, Johnnie Huggins of Columbia, Kenneth (Celestine) Huggins of Sumter, Jonathan (Tammy) Huggins Jr. of Farmville, Va., and Teresa (Lucius) Taylor of Silver; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Huggins of Manning; five sisters, Thelma (Wellington) Crosby, Katie Baxter, Bernice (Steven) Spann and Helen Conyers, all of Pinewood, and Geneva (Leonard) Miller of Manning; three brothers, James (Patricia) Conyers, James Lee Conyers and Minister Garry Conyers, all of Pinewood; three sisters-in-law, Carrie May Huggins of Silver, Louise Page of Aynor and Bernice Huggins of Conway; an additional brother-in-law, Rueben Huggins of Florida City, Fla.; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Celebratory services for Dorothy Ann Pugh Huggins will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 7650 Summerton Highway in Pinewood, with the Rev. W.J. Chandler, pastor, officiating, and the Rev. Terry Johnson and Ministers Garry Conyers and Betty Nesbitt assisting. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery.

Mrs. Huggins will lie in repose for an hour prior to funeral time.

The family will receive friends at the home, 9881 Silver Road in Manning.

Services for Dorothy Ann Pugh Huggins have been entrusted to Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning.
