A 29-year-old woman who was a patient in the labor and delivery department at Clarendon Memorial Hospital told deputies about 8:32 p.m. Dec. 20, 2014, that a Manning man was in the hospital lobby making threats and claiming the baby was his. The woman said the many had been sending her threatening text messages in the days leading up to the incident. At the same time, the woman’s 34-year-old boyfriend made comments that the “baby better be his or he was going to ‘show out’ and did not care about spending a few days in jail.” Hospital staff asked for both men to be removed, but the other man had already left.
