A 50-year-old Manning woman was arrested about 12:28 p.m. Dec. 15 at a store on Paxville Highway and charged with shoplifting after a store employee told the Manning Police Department that she filled up a buggy with items and left the store without paying for them. Debra Church Mixon of 1076 Shadow Oak Road in Manning told police that she did not mean to go outside the store and that it was a mistake. Employees said she filled the buggy "with assorted clothing, food, toys and ... a 24-pack of Budweiser beer." She then allegedly pushed the overfilled car past a cash resgister and out the door where she was stopped and detained. A records check showed police that Mixon was currently wanted for shoplifting from the same store. Police reported the items totaled $799, and Mixon was served a no trespass notice.
