Man tells MPD that teen shot at him

A 67-year-old man living in the first block of Ragin Street told the Manning Police Department about 1:50 p.m. Dec. 14 that a 19-year-old man he raised as a son had pulled a gun and shot at him, shortly after the victim told the young man to stop "looking like a thug with his pants off his butt." Sgt. Alexander Dukes said the victim seemed "somewhat confused or off track," and eventually asked the victim if he was taking medication. The victim became irate, cussed several times and jumped on top of his car as officers left. The victim had told police that he helped the young man out after his mother died, including opening up a bank account for him. He said he was now done with the young man.
