A 19-year-old man died from a gunshot wound to the head early Friday morning, according to Clarendon County Coroner Hayes F. Samuels.

Stephen Hunter Brown of 1362 Savage Road in Manning was pronounced dead at Clarendon Memorial Hospital shortly after Samuels was called there about 5:10 a.m. Friday.

His alleged assailant, Isaac Joseph Baughman II, 26, of 1187 Raider Drive in Manning, is in custody at the Clarendon County Detention Center and was charged with one count of murder by the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office, according to the jail.

Samuels said he is unsure what led to the shooting, but said the incident happened at the suspect’s home.

Baughman was denied bond Friday afternoon by Clarendon Magistrate Judge Shayne Stephens.
