James Harold Catoe

James Harold Catoe, 73, beloved husband of the late Diane Elizabeth Hopkins Catoe, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at his home.

Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Clarence Catoe and Laura Nunnery Catoe. James Harold Catoe was a lifelong resident of Sumter and retired from DuPont as a machine operator after 23 years of service.

Survivors include two daughters, Laura Burgess of Manning and Barbara Boggs of Columbia; a brother, Clarence W. Catoe of Lee County; four sisters, Mattie Ray of Lugoff, Eva Walker  and Geneva Ballentine, both of Sumter, and Sally Thompson of Rembert; a daughter-in-law, Billie Catoe of Sumter; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James T. Catoe; and three sisters, Louise Elmore Watkins, Allie Mae Brown and Dorothy Nunnery.

A memorial service for James Harold Catoe was held Nov. 22, 2014, at 4 p.m. in the Bullock Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Morris officiating.

The family received friends an hour prior to services at the funeral home.

The family chose Bullock Funeral Home for the arrangements.
