James Laverne Wheaton, 74, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at his home, after an illness.
Born in Lenawey County, Mich., Jim was a son of the late Harry E. Wheaton and Katherine Kalmbach Wheaton. Mr. Wheaton was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by two daughters, Julie Cverly of Concord, Mich., Jenny Heslet of Popular Grove, Ill.; a son, Kevin J. Wheaton of Willoughby, Ohio; two brothers, Bob Wheaton of Summerville and John Wheaton of Vandercook Lake, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and a special companion, Joyce Johnson of Turbeville.
A memorial service for James Laverne Wheaton will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Floyd Funeral Home Chapel of Olanta is in charge of services.
