SUMTER - Rhonda Tomeko Sha-queen Broughton, 29, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at her home, 482 Cedarwood Drive in Sumter. Born Nov. 14, 1984, in New York, N.Y., she was a daughter of Louis N. Broughton and Linda Houston Broughton. She attended and was baptized at Gospel Blessing Center Church. Rhonda attended school in Roosevelt, N.Y. She attended Centennial Elementary School and Roosevelt Junior and Senior high schools. Her family moved to Sumter in November 1998, and she then attended Sumter High School. Survivors besides her parents include a daughter, Quanjenae' Armani Lafaye Broughton; two brothers, Quantrill Williams and Tyreek Broughton; three sister, Tyliah, Tyriah and Shakiah Broughtoun; a grandmother, Ida Lou Broughton; five aunts, Donise White, Debra Williams, Maxine Shoemo, Rita Watkins and Angel McKnight; and three uncles, Johnnie Houston, Willie Houston and Bradford Williams. Celebratory services for Rhonda Tomeko Sha-queen Broughton will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 155 Wall St. in Sumter, with the Rev. Larry C. Weston, pastor, officiating, the Rev. Dr. Ella Busby presiding and the Rev. Willis Yvonne Broughton assisting. Burial will follow in Goodwill Presbyterian Church in Mayesville. She will lie in repose an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends at the home. These services have been entrusted to Samuels Funerla Home LLC of Manning.
