The 2014 Summerton Veterans Day Ceremony will be held 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at Summerton Pink Dogwood Park in Summerton.
“This is a chance for our people to gather together with respect for the past and hope for the future, with our voices raised in patriotic songs just as strong as they were in the days of our childhoods,” according to a release from organizers. “Remember the days of saying the Pledge of Allegiance with hand proudly across the chest, watching the flag at the front of the room? Of seeing that snappy salute? It is up to us all to keep that respect and love of country, especially in this time of division and derision.”
All are invited to come and honor all those who have stood in harm’s way for all of us.
The event is sponsored by the American Legion Post 35 and the Pink Dogwood Garden Club of Summerton.
