JV Saints end football season with 8-1 record

The Clarendon Hall JV football team wrapped up its season Thursday night with a dominating 46–0 shut-out victory over the Andrew Jackson Confederates.

The Saints end the season with an impressive 8-1 record.

The Saints used a total of 10 different running backs for a total of 21 carries and 164 yards rushing and five touchdowns and were 7-8 passing for 90 yards. The Saints were able to score touchdowns on all four of their first half drives for a commanding 30 -0 half-time lead.

After receiving the opening kick-off the Saints started their first drive on their own 48 yard line and used a nine-play drive capped by a Wells Robinson touchdown on a nine-yard run for an 8-0 lead after the first quarter. After re-gaining possession by forcing a Confederate punt, on their own 42 yard line, the Saints used seven plays for 58 yards as Justin James scored on a three-yard blast with 6:18 left in the second quarter. The rest of the second quarter was about the same. After a second Confederate punt, Drew Hill capped a 59-yard drive with a three-yard run.

Then after a Confederate fumble, Bobby Ashba scored on a five-yard run to end the scoring for the first half. In the third quarter, The Confederates again fumbled on an attempted punt and on the first offensive play of the second half, from the Confederate 25 yard line, Stephen Henning blasted around the end for a touchdown making the score 38-0 with 3:18 left in the third quarter. The Saints ended the scoring for the night as time ran out in the third quarter on a Kameron Earles interception and 50 yard return for a touchdown and a 46-0 lead.

The offense was led by Earles with 5 rushes for 50 yards; Dylan Way had 4 carries for 36 yards, and was 5 for 6 passing for 72 yards. Ashba had two receptions for 31 yards and Ben Corbett had 2 receptions for 29 yards.

The defensive was led by Ashba with 9 total tackles for the night and Robinson contributed 6 total tackles. Kade Elliott recovered a fumble.

The JV Saints conclude the season scoring 332 total points while only allowing 82 points with an average of 163 yards rushing per game and 89 yards passing per game.
