Mannington Place celebrates renovations

Community leaders joined with residents, staff and management of Mannington Place on Tuesday for a ribbon cutting and presentation of the facility's summer renovations. Built in 1992, the facility is run by Boyd Management. The apartment complex's 40 tenants were not displaced overnight during the renovations.

"The tenants would be taken out during the day, and they might go with family or stay in a common area," said co-owner Barbara Jaco. "It was an inconvenience for them to have to pack up everything, but they were gracious, and when we were done, they could move right back in and their homes are like new again."

Jaco said residents must make less than 60 percent of the median income for Clarendon County and be 62 or older and/or disabled.
