A 36-year-old Manning man told police about 6:10 p.m. Oct. 26 that he got confrontational with two younger men about 5:40 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 200 block of Dickson St. in Manning because he thought the two men were looking at his daughters and saying what he believed to be inappropriate things to them. The men told police that they had done nothing but watch the girls pass by, and that the girls’ father immediately started trying to fight them. While police were present, the man was steadily yelling across the parking lot, inviting people to fight him, according to reports. The man’s mother eventually picked him up. He was heavily intoxicated, police and witnesses reported.
