Tall beers earn three men night in jail

Three 24-ounce beers taken Oct. 18 from a store in the 600 block of South Mill Street in Manning earned three Manning men a night in the Clarendon County Detention Center. The men allegedly entered the store and attempted to conceal several items, including pork chops and cans of O'douls, a non-alcoholic beer substitute. Store employees found those items hidden throughout the store. The pork chops were just outside the door, along with a 24-ounce can of Bud Light. After police were alerted, Patrolwoman Caitlin Ann McPherson spotted the three men with a yellow bag near the store's parking area. The bag ultimately contained three 24-ounce cans of Budweiser, a bag of chips and miscellaneous snacks.
