Clarendon School District 3's recently announced results on the federal report cards are the result of "dedication, focus and effective planning," said Superintendent Connie Dennis. The district scored a 80.9, a B, which means it exceeded the state's expectations. Overall, the elementary and high school students tested scored A's, while the middle school students scored a D. Dennis admitted there is work to do at the middle school level, but she was pleased with the A's from the elementary and high school students. "We embrace a solid plan to teach children," she said. "There is a constant emphasis on tracking student performance. We realize there are subgroups that need attention, which we will study and monitor."
