Darren Andrews, husband of Catherine Jones Andrews, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at Queens Hospital Center in New York, N.Y.
Born Thursday, March 20, 1965, in New York, he was a son of John Andrews and the late Tisha Mae Britton Andrews. He attended the public schools of Queens, N.Y., and was employed as a construction worker.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Andrews Jr.
Survivors besides his wife of the home include a daughter, Shadora Jade Andrews of Jamaica, N.Y.; a son, Amir York Simpkins of Jamaica; three sisters, Eloise Conyers of Sumter and Edna Cooper and Pamela Dickens, both of Queens; and a number of other close relatives and friends.
The family of Darren Andrews will receive friends at the home of his father, 1106 Locust Way in Manning.
