The Manning Feed Mill Barnyard Buddies is joining the Sumter County Walking Horse Association to host a benefit horse show 3 p.m. Nov. 1 at Dillon Park in Sumter, the proceeds from which will benefit Clarendon County Relay for Life. “There will be no charge for admission, but donations will be accepted,” said Manning Feed Mill owner Lucy Comstock. “The show will start with the Stick Horse Class, which is open to any child who enjoys riding a stick horse.” Children may bring their own stick horses or purchase them at the park. A Lead Line Class will be offered for those bringing their own horses or ponies. “All participants will receive a prize,” Comstock said. “The Barnyard Buddies will be there will special gifts and prizes.” The Sumter County Walking Horse Association will hold a drawing for many items throughout the show, and other novelty items will be for sale. A concession stand will open at noon. The S.C. Park Board has donated barbecue. “Come support our local equestrian talent as they compete with others from around the region,” Comstock said. “If you would like to advertise, sponsor or donate ahead of time, please let us know.” For more information, call Joanne Overstreet at (803) 720-7721.
