Phillips-Poole Wedding Announcement

Kirby Carolyn Phillips and Richard "Ricky" Doyle Poole III were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at Southern Turbeville Methodist Church in Turbeville. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Grey Coker Jr. of Turbeville and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thomas Phillips of Cades; the maternal granddaughter of Cecelia Powell Beasley of Turbeville and the late Bennie Thomas Beasley Jr.; and the paternal granddaughter of Carolyn Kirby McCutchen of Cades, James David "Jimmie" Phillips and the late Ronald Wayne "Dick" McCutchen. She is a 2005 graduate of East Clarendon High School, and received an associate of arts degree in early childhood education and development from Williamsburg Technical College. The groom is the son of Margaret Fogle Poole and the late Richard Doyle Poole Jr.; the maternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leon Brice Fogle; and paternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Doyle Poole Sr. He is a graduate of Lexington High School and is employed as branch manager for First Franklin Financial in Manning. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Henry Thomas "Tommy" Phillips, while wearing an A-line white gown with beading and carrying hydrangeas. The Rev. Patrick Goodwin performed the ceremony, with pianist Ashleigh Griffith Knowlton and vocalist Dena Joye providing music. April Coker Newson, step-sister of the bride, served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids included April Ellis, Leah Coker, Chelsea Cannon and Jesse Beasley. Naomi McCutchen served as the flower girl. Richie Hall, brother in law of the groom, served as the Best Man. Groomsmen included Chad McCutchen, Benjie Welch, Blake Newsome and R.H. Carter.  Charlie McCutchen served as the ringbearer. The rehearsal party was given by Margaret Fogle Poole, the mother of the groom, at the Turbeville Southern Methodist Church fellowship hall. The reception was given by the parents of the bride at the Cypress Center in Manning. After a honeymoon trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Manning.
