The S.C. Highway Patrol said today that an 8-year-old Manning girl was hit about 6 p.m. Thursday on Raccoon Road in Manning after running out into the road. Lance Cpl. David Jones said Friday morning that the girl hit the side of a 51-year-old Summerton woman's 2013 Chevrolet 4-door vehicle, specifically running into the vehicle's front passenger's side as it passed the roadway the girl walked into. "We are showing in the report that there were incapacitating injuries, but nothing life-threatening," Jones said. The girl was transported by EMS to Clarendon Memorial Hospital. The driver was not at fault, Jones said.
