leigh ann and craigManning Times Publisher Leigh Ann Maynard and Clarendon Credit owner Craig Varn are once again battling it out through a food drive. The pair did a similar drive nearly two years ago, with Varn losing and having to wear a Gamecocks cheerleading uniform.

We’re looking for your suggestions this time around as to what type of Carolina/Clemson-related punishment the loser should do, within reason. We’ve had some really good ones so far, but I’m looking for more.

Leigh Ann is for Carolina and Craig is for Clemson.

Church celebrating 159 years

church newsMount Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 5918 S.C. 260 in Jordan, will celebrate its 159th anniversary at 11:15 a.m. Saturday during morning worship services. The guest speaker will be Pastor Gary Miller of Springfield Baptist Church. The Rev. Carnell Witherspoon is the host pastor.

Marquice Elmore (21) races downfield to gain yards in the first half against Latta.

Latta’s Vikings bested East Clarendon’s Wolverines at Shad Hall Field tonight, with a final score of 34-29.

EC drops to 2-3 on the season and next plays an away game in Timmonsville.
