Gov’s candidate speaks at prayer breakfast

vince-sheheen-3Sen. Vince Sheheen, who is the Democratic opponent of Gov. Nikki Haley in the November general election, spoke briefly Saturday morning at Trinity AME Church in Manning.

We will have more on his speech throughout the weekend, along with those of Lt. Gov. candidate Bakari Sellers and Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley.

 


BOLO: White Crown Victoria involved in alleged armed robbery

BOLOClarendon County Dispatch has issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for a late 1990s, early 2000s Ford Crown Victoria with a driver and passenger allegedly involved in an armed robbery in Florence this morning.

The driver is described as a black male wearing a yellow hoodie and a white T-shirt who is wearing a gold ring and gold teeth. The vehicle has “older-model” hubcaps, according to reports. The alleged armed robbery happened about 8:10 a.m. at Bull Convenience Store off Exit 157 on Interstate 95 in Florence County.

LMA vs FC 2Alex James, pictured, scored a two point conversion after a fake point after kick that proved decisive as the Florence Christian Eagles edged Laurence Manning  Academy’s Swampcats 8- 7 tonight at Billy Chitwood Field.

“A disappointing outcome,” said LMA Head Coach Robbie Briggs after FCS ran out the remaining seconds to take the non-conference game.

Mistakes, penalties — some questionable — and a missed field goal were cited as factors.

“And we turned the ball over inside our 20 and you can’t do that,” he said. “That’s it.”
