James Reece Dick, 84, husband of Lullie “Pat” Dick, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2014 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, N.C.

Born Oct. 29, 1929, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late Henry Theodore Dick and Annice Clarann Burris Dick.

He was member of Paul's Crossing Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 348, he served in the U.S. Army and retired from Coca Cola of Charlotte. He also drove for Rolling Hills Cotton Gin.

Survivors besides his wife of New London include two daughters, Teresa Pollock of Harvest, Ala., and Lisa Young of Williamsburg, Va.; two brothers, Cecil Dick of Albemarle and Truett Dick (Sara) of Manning; three sisters, Violet Keller of Albemarle, Betty Jean Scott of Stanfield, and Elvenne Biles of Norwood; five grandchildren, Karen, Tim, and Mike Brown, Gabby and Bailey Young; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23 2014, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albermarle, N.C.

Funeral services for James Reece Dick will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at Paul’s Crossing Baptist Church, with the Rev. Keith Walters officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, 40461 Paul’s Crossing Road in Richfield, N.C.

Full military honors will be conducted by the Stanly County DAV Chapter 12.
